Listen, you may think we have the best job in the whole entire world. While it is pretty cool, it's a far shot from being easy.
One of the toughest things we have to do is to vote. Joe Medley, The Star's columnist, votes on the Heisman Trophy. But that's just once a year. Nick Birdsong, The Star's high school sports writer, votes every week on where he thinks the high school teams across the state should be ranked.
The difficult thing about this is that Nick only gets to see a fraction of the high school teams across the state. He's basically voting on phone conversations he's had with other prep writers.
The only real help he gets is this thing called, "How the Top 10 fared". This is the list that Nick and the other sports writers get to see:
